Battles which must be won are not for those who don’t have (or loose self-control). Circumstances would always be compelling and would create immense pressure, collapsing or throwing-up is never a way out. Pressure needs to be checked and kept under check at all times. Allowing pressure to pile up can lead to impulsive behavior  taking over from wisdom and depression taking over from determination.

Self-control/ willpower is likely to give way under  abject frustration or extreme deprivation. It is important that causes of frustration and deprivation are addressed at early stages always. Frustration and deprivation both are extremely strong negative thought catalysts with capabilities of holding on and growing more on their own. Solutions to fighting root causes of frustration can be as simple as, cutting off  from all that and going for a walk…

There can be instances where there is no will to tame willpower, being candid with mentors can help in minimizing the fall out.

Self-control is necessary and mapping it with wisdom and determination is must… Because some battles must be won.
