Some souls just rest within you, they ensure that they are not noticed and they don’t expect to be acknowledged.  They are there with you all the time but they become active when they feel they can make a difference to your battle.  These souls are no less than the almighty themselves.  The only thing these souls want is your happiness and your victory.  They have no axe to grind and they have no stomach to feed.  Having said that, it requires lot of effort to feel their presence at all times.  No one would want to hurt these souls inadvertently but as they are dormant and illusive “their absence” sometimes irritates you and make you act against them.  There would be times when you pick up a fight with them and they would not react at all, but at times they may choose to let you know their presence and their existence. As and when they choose to, respect their needs and honor  their contribution.

Their love for you is supreme even over their own self.  You need them…because Some Battles Must Be Won.

thank you for having said this. I thought i was the only one who had these “friends”. often in my bitterest battles, i’d let sadness and loneliness take me over, for the briefest instant, for a breath-long pause. and my only thought’d be ‘where are you?’ there seeming absence would pain. and then. i’d find them when i least expect it. shedding tears at my memories, telling me i can always – nay, i should always write to them, even when they are gone, chiding me because i have strayed from ‘the path’. and then i know. that they are the fiber that is braided to become my life, they are pieces of my soul – scattered though they be, in time and geography. they are me, my world.

So right Sujatha, your comment adds some real good strings to the thought expressed. Thanks 🙂
