  1. Battles are a pain, they must end, the sooner they do the lesser they cost. Battles are inherently negative in character, they deprive everyone of everything including peace and sleep.
  2. Starting battle is a call, raging fires and escalations happen automatically. Lack of tolerance and loss of trust in the the “circle of comfort” are some of the reasons for unprecedented escalations. In battles which must be won suspicion and speculation have a field day, you just don’t want to take any chances and succumb to “just be done with it” approach.
  3. Every cut and every bruise brings pain, it also increases the pain taking capacity. In later stages of battle a bleeding head pains less than a blackened  eye.
